Workshop at Point Youth Centre, Fishguard – August 2021

I led a very enjoyable first workshop on a sunny day at the end of August. 12 participants aged 10-14 investigated the visual concept of borders in two coastal locations, and took photos and videos on smartphones and iPads. After the location shoots, we shared the creative work as a group at Point.

I was struck by how participants had instinctively grasped the concept, finding their own interpretations. There were wide shots of meetings between land, sea, beach and horizon, and close-ups questioning the idea of borders such as sand gradations, light and shadow, and water movement. Many thanks to Jetse Martin and all at Point for their support.
