Holyhead App Walk and Talk Event | Taith a Sgwrs i gyflwyno Ap Caergybi

Holyhead Breakwater Country Park, 22 October 2022, 11am-12pm

Explore the depth of history in Holyhead with the ‘Port Places’ app. Through walking tours, multimedia collections and stories, Port Places provides a range of themed experiences covering the seaports of Fishguard, Pembroke Dock, Holyhead, Dublin and Rosslare Harbour, their local attractions, and the crossings between them. The app allows the user to download their choice of curated experiences, each providing a vision of port life, crossings, creativity, history and heritage.

For Holyhead, the initial offering will be the Breakwater Country Park and stories of the Dublin to Holyhead Crossing. Follow the Country Park trail with us, taking in the breakwater and coastal views, and learn how to use the app to uncover and navigate the rich heritage of the area.

Please contact Ailbhe McDaid to book your place: ailbhe.mcdaid@ucc.ie. It is advised to book early as places are limited! The trail is suitable for all abilities and is wheelchair accessible. Please ensure you bring stout footwear and rain gear.

More Ports, Past and Present events are taking place at Ucheldre, Holyhead, on 15 and 22 October, where an exhibition, ‘Creative Connections Across the Irish Sea’, is on show for the rest of 2022:
