April Heritage Coffee Morning (Online): Maritime Archaeology in the Irish Sea | Bore Coffi Treftadaeth mis Ebrill: Archeoleg Môr ym Môr Iwerddon
April 7, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join our cross-coastal coffee mornings for informal conversation about heritage and creative themes across the port towns. The April coffee morning will take place on Thursday, April 7 at 11am.
Our April coffee morning will feature a short talk by archaeologist and National Museum of Ireland curator Dr Nessa O’Connor.
Nessa has worked in the area of underwater archaeology on behalf of the National Museum for many years. She will talk about the different types of discoveries from the hinterland of ports through time and from the Irish Sea area in particular, along with the maritime archaeology related role of the National Museum of Ireland. She will show images of some very interesting sites and archaeological objects as well as describing the different ways in which these maritime discoveries have come to light and how they are best recorded and protected.
All welcome, and promises to be a fascinating talk! Please email aoife.dowling@ucc.ie for a Zoom link.

Ymunwch â’n boreau coffi traws-arfordirol am sgwrs anffurfiol ynghylch themâu creadigol a threftadaeth ar draws y trefi porthladd. Cynhelir bore coffi mis Ebrill ar ddydd Iau, 7 Ebrill am 11am.
Bydd ein bore coffi ym mis Ebrill yn cynnwys anerchiad byr gan Dr Nessa O’Connor, archeolegydd a churadur Amgueddfa Genedlaethol Iwerddon.
Mae Nessa wedi treulio blynyddoedd lawer yn gweithio ym maes archeoleg tanddwr i’r Amgueddfa Genedlaethol. Bydd hi’n sôn am y gwahanol fathau o ddarganfyddiadau ar gyrion porthladdoedd dros gyfnod o amser, ac o Fôr Iwerddon yn arbennig, ynghyd â rôl Amgueddfa Genedlaethol Iwerddon sy’n ymwneud ag archeoleg môr. Bydd hi’n dangos delweddau o rai safleoedd a gwrthrychau archeolegol diddorol iawn, yn ogystal â disgrifio’r gwahanol ffyrdd y mae’r darganfyddiadau môr hyn wedi gweld golau dydd, a’r ffordd orau o’u cofnodi a’u diogelu.
Estynnir croeso cynnes i bawb, ac mae’n argoeli i fod yn anerchiad hynod ddiddorol! I gael y ddolen Zoom, anfonwch neges at aoife.dowling@ucc.ie.
